Councillor Connie Besant-Gull

I was born and raised in Mistley, and I have enjoyed watching our village change and grow.
I studied Sociology at the University of Essex, and I am keen to expand my learning of how society can shape the individual. I completed my own research project "A Pint Of Girlsberg-Women in Pub Culture'', which was heavily influenced by my experiences of working in local pubs.
I previously worked in the NHS in an administrative capacity, and I now work in administration for Acorn Village, a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities, and Port in A Storm, a mental health charity as a crisis support worker.
I have always been interested in politics, and I wanted to join the Parish Council to get a better understanding of how our community works, and get involved in more local projects.
